Single Yolker Egg Plate #4
There have been many lovely interpretations of the humble egg cup over the centuries, a beloved breakfast choice of many and known by many names depending on your family.
In my house it was called ‘boiled googy and soldiers’ and it’s a breakfast that comes with fond memories of my Gran as they were always on the menu after a sleepover. My designs evolve each year, this year I’ve thrown the egg cups on the wheel and hand build the rest. I really love this buff clay and the contrast between the sandy tones and satin white glaze.
This all in one has room for your toast and a fixed egg cups to avoid a rogue egg! The extra ring I added has two purposes, my Gran used to pile up freshly ground salt and pepper for me to add to each dunk or bite so the well can be used for that, or to rest your egg top in after it’s been sliced off to reveal the yolk!
These pieces are dishwasher safe.
