Sake Pourer - Jade

$180.00

I have long been interested in the world of sake. I find the customs, traditions, flavours and aromas quite captivating. Although sake is not for everyone I think it’s similar to an oyster, in that you either can’t get into it or you love it!

I mix up my practices in the studio, and when my arms and mind need a rest form hand building I hit the wheel. I’ve found myself pretty demotivated to throw in the past, but now that I’ve done a sake deep dive I really look forward to my wheel sessions.

My pourers come in a number of shapes and forms, but I tend to lean into oblong and rotund shapes with a small mouth. The glazes are my signature ‘peacock’ array of hues, in golds and metallic tones, green, blues and white.

Jade pourer is glazed in a celadon, transparent, light jade interior and exterior. The throwing lines in the top half of the pourer create a lovely, textural feature.
